How to Care for your Cork Bag

Here are some tips on how to care for your Bee by Design cork product. 

Cork is easy to maintain.  It is naturally water resistant. For regular cleaning, simply wipe the cork with a damp cloth, using a mild soap.  Baby wipes are also excellent for cleaning cork. Leave the cork to air dry naturally.

For a deeper clean, you can handwash the cork using a mild soap.  Gently rub the affected areas and rinse with cold water.  Do not machine wash or leave the bag to soak for long periods as this will damage the cork and/or the metal zippers, hardware, etc.  Leave the bag to drip dry and iron any non cork portions.

Cork should never be exposed to high heats like ironing or tumble drying. This will dry out the cork, leading to irreparable cracking.

It is natural for the corners or edges of coloured corks to show signs of wear.  There are cork conditioners on the market that you can use on your cork.

Bags should be stored in a cool, well ventilated area and not exposed to UV rays for long periods, as fading can occur.
